Antique Norse Hand-Carved Silver & Yellow Resin "Torc"

This antique Nordic "Torc" (Bangle) is an impressive piece of wearable art. Hand-crafted of silver, its band features an ornate carved design filled with yellow resin. This antique artifact is in excellent condition for its age (pre 1700s) and originally comes from the Nordic region of Northern Europe & the North Atlantic, including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.

The Norse people were artisan jewelry-makers, creating simple pieces of metal jewelry, as well as decorative objects of fantastic design & craftsmanship. The most popular jewelry among Norsemen were bracelets, also known as armbands, arm rings, or torcs. Torcs were worn by both men & women and used mainly for self-adornment.
