This marvelous ancient Phoenician mosaic glass bird pendant shines with a multitude of colors from beak to tail. The coloring, combined with the bird's unique pose, gives the piece a slightly "cocky" feel, as if this little bird is checking you out. Phoenician glass was renowned in ancient times for its unique luster and beauty. The coastal dunes of southern Venice provided high-quality sand for the production of glass, as the technique of glass blowing likely originated in the first century B.C. in this region.
