Antique Norse Hand-Carved Silver & Black Resin "Torc"

This antique Nordic "Torc" (Bangle) is a beautiful piece of wearable art. Hand-crafted of silver, its band features an ornate carved design filled with black resin. A few pieces of resin have fallen out over time, but this does not affect the integrity of the artifact, but only adds to its mystique. This antique artifact is in excellent condition for its age (pre 1700s) and originally comes from the Nordic region of Northern Europe & the North Atlantic, including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.

The Norsemen people were artisan jewelry-makers, and the most popular jewelry among them were bracelets, also known as armbands, arm rings, or torcs. Torcs were worn by both men & women and used mainly for self-adornment.
