This is a stunning antique Near Eastern Luristan bronze statue of an Ibex with horns in the shape of an Axe Head in excellent condition for its age. The bronze has formed a beautiful blue-green patina over time, adding to the beauty and intrigue of the unique piece. Mounted in an upright position, it would make a distinctive addition to any art collection.
This piece was made by local artisans in Turkey/Anatolia using ancient techniques to sell to the affluent visitors who traveled to on year-long educational "Grand Tours" of various archaeologically significant sites between 1780-1920s.
This antique Roman ring is attested as made by local artisans in Turkey/Anatolia during the “Grand Tour” period (1780s-1920s) by Mr. Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands LTD, and accompanied by a signed “Provenance & Ownership” document.
