Antique Gold-Gilt Phoenician Ring | Blue Glass Center-Stone (c. 300 B.C.)

This spectacular ancient Phoenician ring bears a blue glass center-stone and an ornately crafted gold-gilt metal band. Although the ring's integrity remains intact, a thin crack arcs across the center-stone's face and there's a tiny chip missing from the black center. Displayed in a cabinet, hanging as a necklace pendant, or worn on a finger as it was intended, this ancient Phoenician ring is sure to mesmerize all who see it.

Phoenician glass was renowned in ancient times for its unique luster and beauty. The coastal dunes of southern Venice provided high-quality sand for the production of glass, as the technique of glass blowing likely originated in the first century B.C. in this region.
