Antique Burmese Shan Bronze Buddha Head (c. late 19th - early 20th century)

This is a fine bronze Burmese Buddha head fragment cast in the Shan styling. The piece was likely fashioned during the late 19th to early 20th century.

The head is sensitively carved with a serene contemplative expression, with arched eyebrows bowed high towards the forehead, set above heavy-lidded and closed eyes, a narrow well-shaped nose, bow-shaped lips with an insipid smile, and prominent elongated ears.
