Antique Bronze Thai "Amitabha Buddha on Bodhi Tree" Sculpture

Traveling Man Treasures is selling this early 20th century Thai bronze sculpture depicting nine Amitabha Buddhas positioned around a central Bodhi tree. This sculpture features elements of the Sukhothai style, a renowned period in Thai art history known for its elegant and serene Buddha images. 

Each Amitabha Buddha is seated on the limbs of the Bodhi tree, in the Dhyana mudra or 'Meditation Position'. This hand gesture promotes the energy of meditation, deep contemplation and unity with higher energy.
The Bodhi tree, also called the Tree of Awakening, Mahabodhi Tree or Bo Tree, is a large sacred fig tree where Siddhartha Gautama, the spiritual teacher who became known as the Buddha, is said to have attained enlightenment.
