Traveling Man Treasures is selling this striking antique incised brass Qalamdan Divit calligraphy case, a combination of inkwell and quill holder used by traveling government officials, scribes and calligraphers in the Ottoman and Persian empires. Used and worn with decorative belts, these were symbols of status and wealth.
Decorated with incised floral motifs, this Qalamdan Divit measures 9" long by 2.25" wide. The piece is in great antique condition, with signs of wear consistent with use and age (patina, dry, caked ink residue inside the inkwell and quill holder).
