Antique Phoenician Mosaic Glass Fish Pendant (c. 300 B.C.)
Antique Phoenician Mosaic Glass Fish Pendant (c. 300 B.C.)
OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY!
This marvelous ancient Phoenician mosaic glass fish pendant shines with a multitude of colors from scales to tail. The colored glass is fully utilized as the craftsman works the molten material into decorative fish scales. Unfortunately, the pendant lost its usability as a necklace when some sort of heat source caused the stringing hole to close and the pendant to warp slightly. This artifact will serve well as a shelf or cabinet display piece.
Phoenician glass was renowned in ancient times for its unique luster and beauty. The coastal dunes of southern Venice provided high-quality sand for the production of glass, as the technique of glass blowing likely originated in the first century B.C. in this region.
This artifact has been attested as authentic ancient Phoenician and dated to circa 300 B.C. by Mr. Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands, LTD, and is accompanied by a signed PDF copy of its "Provenance & Ownership" documentation.
