This antique Norse/Viking "Arm Band" is an impressive piece of wearable art. Hand-hammered from bronze, its solid band is topped with geometric rectangular links. This antique artifact is in excellent condition for its age (c. 900 A.D.) and originally comes from the Nordic region of Northern Europe & the North Atlantic, including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.

The Norse/Viking people were artisan jewelry-makers, creating simple pieces of metal jewelry, as well as decorative objects of fantastic design & craftsmanship. The most popular jewelry among Norsemen were bracelets, also known as armbands, arm rings, or torcs. These arm bands were worn by men and used mainly for trade or self-adornment.

This artifact has been attested to as authentic & genuine Viking/Norse in origin by Mr. Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands Ltd, incorporated in the United Kingdom, and is accompanied by a digitally signed PDF copy of its “Provenance & Ownership” document.
