This hand-carved stone Ancient Egyptian God "Taweret" statue was procured via a U.K. auction. It is in outstanding condition for its age, and is impressive as an addition to an Egyptian collection or as a stand alone piece!

The Ancient Egyptian Goddess of Taweret is associated with fertility and childbirth. She played an important role in ancient Egypt as the guardian of children and an essential helper of women during birth and pregnancy. Taweret is also the consort of the Ancient Egyptian God Bes, who is also a protector of children, humor, and entertainment.

This antique Egyptian artifact has been dated to between the Late Period to Alexander’s Conquest (c.664-332 B.C.) by Mr. Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands LTD, and accompanied by a digitally signed PDF copy of its “Provenance & Ownership” document. Alternatively, it may have been made in Egypt during the “Grand Tour/Egyptian Revival” period (1780-1930)
